The following will help you establish if the dwelling is on a concrete slab or on stumps:
- If there are no steps leading up to a brick veneer house then most likely a concrete slab.
- If there is ducted heating vents in the floor then most likely on stumps.
- If the house is over 30 years old then most likely on stumps, 40+ years definitely stumps.
- If the ground is flat and the house is not older than around 20 years, then most likely it is a concrete slab.
- If the house is a weatherboard then most likely on stumps.
- If there are polished floor boards (not floating floors) then most likely on stumps.
- If there are floating floors then most likely on a concrete slab.
- If brick window sills are very close to the ground then on a concrete slab.
- If there are retaining walls around the house then most likely a concrete slab.
